Monthly dinner meetings normally held on the 2nd Thursday of each month at the Elks Lodge, 63120 Boyd Acres Rd., Bend, OR  97701 (Just north of Empire Blvd. and just east of Hwy. 97)

Social time starts at 6 pm, dinner at 6:30 pm, and meeting follows.
We enjoy the company of veterans and hope you’ll join us.

It doesn’t matter where you served in the military, only that you served honorably during a wartime period.  Spouses are always welcome.

Our Dinner:  We always enjoy a potluck dinner before our monthly business meeting.  Members and guests are encouraged to bring a main entrée, side dish, or dessert of their choosing.  Sugar free items needed, too.

In addition, we have a guest speaker during dinner and a restaurant gift certificate raffle, so come on in and enjoy the fun.

If you’ve just moved to Bend or are a vet and want to become involved, contact us today!

Serving Bend Veterans & Youth

Stevens-Chute Post 4 has been dedicated to serving Bend’s veterans and youth since 1919. Our more than 220 members are comprised of men and women who served our country from WWII through the present day Global War on Terror.  Post 4 was recognized as the fastest growing American Legion post in Oregon during 2006-2007, and today is reaching out to support our community in several ways.

Operation Home Build

Through a new alliance with Bend Area Habitat for Humanity, for example, our Post encourages area veteran families to apply for affordable housing through Habitat. Once the families qualify, we rally the veteran community and Bend at large to help “build homes for vets by vets.”

Generous donations from Bend area organizations, businesses and individuals help defray the costs of building a home for vets. What better way to say thank you to our veterans than by helping them achieve the American Dream—that of owning a home. Please see our Programs link for other ways we serve our community.

Diamond Lake to Mt. Bachelor Relay

Stevens-Chute Post 4 is among a select group of Bend charities benefiting from the upcoming Diamond Lake to Mt. Bachelor Relay, scheduled for August 1-2, 2008. Several hundred premiere running and walking teams, plus a number of high school teams, are expected to compete. When participants register for the event they are given an opportunity to contribute to Post 4 along with other non-profit charities. All donated funds to Post 4 from the relay will go directly towards funding Operation Home Build, which is a cooperative effort between Bend’s American Legion, other local veteran’s groups, and the Bend Area Habitat for Humanity to build affordable homes for qualified veteran families. Donate today and help vets build homes for vets! Donations are tax deductible.  Visit the following website for more information on The Diamond Lake to Mt. Bachelor Relay and how you can help vets achieve the American Dream of owning a home.   www.diamondlakemtbachelorrelay.org
